Cohorts

The first Water Leaders Institute cohort included community members from all five council districts and St. Bernard.

The group was majority black and native New Orleanian, and included groups typically underrepresented in planning and design processes. The cohort was multi-generational, included a variety of sexual orientations and gender identities, and featured professions ranging from farming and art to mycology and building construction.

Each individual’s personal experiences enriched our collective understanding of risk, resilience, and living with water.
