Arien Hall and Mastodonte win Water Challenge

Arien Hall, her business partner Luisa Abballe, and their green infrastructure company won first prize and $10,000 as part of the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s annual Water Challenge pitch competition. Mastodonte also won the Audience Favorite Award.

Arien Hall is member of the 2018 WLI pilot cohort. She co-founded Mastodonte to provide stormwater management systems and landscape construction services, with a vision of a “city that embraces water while also creating urban ecosystems that can improve the quality of life for a community.” They also seek to tackle inequities in the water sector by offering apprenticeships to minority youth and community, and hosting educational workshops and programming for the community.
